The construction of this submachine gun is almost all metal, complete with ABS plastic housing.
This gun can be shot with a batch of steel BB pellets with a diameter of 4.5mm. The magazine can hold 25 BB pellets and can fire at a cadence of up to 1400 pellets per minute.
The Crosman R1 is powered by two 12g CO2 BBs placed in the magazine along with the ammunition.
The principle of operation of the CO2 system is as follows: A small bomb is inserted into the gun, which is impaled on the mandrel using a mechanical closure. When the trigger is pulled, the hammer hits the valve stem and the valve opens. This starts a flow of CO2 gas from the vial, which pushes the bullet out of the barrel.
The machine gun features a blowback that provides a better shooting experience.
