Authentic replica of the famous American brand Smith Wesson. Umarex has been licensed to produce accurate replicas.
Like the sharp prototype, the lower frame of the gun is polymer and the slide is metal. The barrel, magazine and other elements of this gun are also made of metal.
The realism of the appearance is enhanced by the so-called BlowBack system, which moves the slide of the gun back and forth when firing as in the firearm version.
The propellant for this airsoft gun is Green Gas supplied from a custom magazine. Filling is done via a pin in the magazine foot. The magazine of the Smith Wesson MP9 pistol also has space for 6mm BB plastic ammunition. The ammunition is inserted from the front of the magazine. Its capacity is 21 rounds. The recommended weight of ammunition by the manufacturer is 0,20-0,30g. The magazine can also be purchased separately as a spare.
GreenGas propulsion principle - the system of the gun is identical to CO2 guns, also here the gas that is released when the tap is struck on the valve of the gun's magazine drives the bullet. The only difference is that the gas is not delivered by the cartridge, but by the gun magazine itself, which receives the GreenGas in the same way as, for example, when refilling the gas in a lighter. This system is more economical and only slightly less powerful than CO2.
Green Gas models of airsoft guns are popular because of their higher power output compared to electric guns and the ability to fire faster than manual guns. A filled tank of GreenGas is enough for 40 - 70 shots depending on the ambient temperature and firing mode.
The trigger mechanism of the Smith Wesson Military Police Model 9 GAS Blow Back has a single action design - internal hammer - the hammer mechanism is cocked by the slide of the gun. The pistol must be cocked before the first shot is fired. After the trigger is pulled, the gun is fired and automatically recocked. This is the same system as for firearms of this type. The fact that the trigger is only responsible for firing the shot makes it much lighter.
To improve shooting performance, the Smith Wesson MP9 pistol is equipped with an adjustable Shoot-Up, Hop-Up system that provides better ammunition rotation.
An accidental discharge is prevented by a so-called reed safety on the trigger. The trigger must be pressed on the center to deactivate the safety.
